What We Do

Education & Awareness
Part of our mission is education and public awareness — to spread helpful information about Parkinson's disease.  As part of our services, we connect you to informative websites, educational speakers, and other learning opportunities. We also participate in health fairs and collaborate with other agencies.

Upcoming Events

Creative Connections - A Taste of the Arts! 
 

"Creative Connections - A Taste of the Arts" program from July 15 - July 26th.  

Ten days of classes to try out Dance for PD, Yoga, Choir, Improv and Art!  

All classes will be at 11am, are limited to 20 participants and will cost $5/each.

  • Mondays, July 15th and 22nd - Join us for a fun Dance for PD class.  Dance for PD® program strives to increase coordination, balance, flexibility, and strength through music and movement from a broad range of dance styles.  Class will be taught by Caitlyn McCarty and will be held in the Note-Able Music Therapy Services 2590 Orovada St in Reno

  • Tuesdays, July 16th and 23rd - Join us for a PD Yoga class. Yoga can help balance, strength, flexibility, posture, functional mobility, breathing, mindfulness, and focus which all lead to greater ease in daily life and improved overall well-being. Class will be taught by Julie Simpson and will be held in the Note-Able Music Therapy Services 2590 Orovada St in Reno

  • Wednesday, July 17th and 24th - Join us for a PD Choir! Singing helps the voice, swallowing, breathing and increases dopamine!  Class will be taught by Manal Toppozada of Note-Able Music Therapy Services and held at 2590 Orovada St in Reno

  • Thursdays, July 18th and 25th - Join us for "Jam for Joy" improv class. Improv games bring joy and laughter, make us comfortable with the uncomfortable and helps us tell our stories.  Class will be taught by Alexandra Koroleva and will be held at TMCC Meadowood Center, 5270 Neil Road in Reno

  • Fridays, July 19th and 26th - Join us for a PD Art class.  Art improves hand dexterity, visuospatial perception, mood, and quality of life.  Class will be taught by Tina Drakulich of David L. Drakulich Foundation and will be held at TMCC Meadowood Center, 5270 Neil Road in Reno
