AARP Reno Safety Class Locator:

The AARP Smart Driver Course is one of many programs offered by AARP Driver Safety. It’s the nation's largest classroom and online driver safety course and it's designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. Finding affordable transportation options can be challenging, we created this technology for Nevada residents to be able to see all their transportation options in one place!

We Need to Talk Driving:

ACCEPT Medical Transportation:

For those who qualify, ACCEPT gives rides to people under the poverty line. Almost any medical appointment is included. You can receive two free rides a month but check back with them later because this could increase. Ubers, bus cards, or gas cards are awarded to those who are in need.

Neighborhood Network of Northern Nevada:

Finding affordable transportation options can be challenging, we created this technology for Nevada residents to be able to see all their transportation options in one place!

Sanford Center for Aging:

At the Sanford Center, we recognize that transportation is an issue for many older adults. Getting to doctor's appointments, events, classes and activities or even grocery shopping become a hassle when you don't have the ability to drive yourself around town. Our Volunteer Transportation Program was created to provide an alternative ride option for older adults.

RTA: Washoe Senior Ride/Taxi Card:

Washoe Senior Ride (WSR) is a subsidized taxi program of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) and is funded by the ¼% of Washoe County sales tax that is allocated for public transportation. WSR provides alternative, reliable and affordable transportation to Washoe County residents who are 60 years and older, RTC ACCESS client (any age) and Washoe County Veterans (any age).

Each month WSR participants may purchase up to $60 worth of taxi fares for just $15.  Participants are issued a RTC WSR CardONE reloadable card, which can be used to pay any part of a taxi fare. The WSR CardONE card cannot be used to tip the driver. This program and the subsidy are subject to available funding and may be changed or terminated by the RTC.
