Get ready for an afternoon of cutting-edge science! We're bringing back our Mini Research Symposium—your opportunity to hear directly from leading researchers and clinicians about the latest discoveries in Parkinson's care and treatment.

This year features three fascinating topics at the forefront of Parkinson's research:

Stem Cell Research with Dr. Danny Truong of Renown—Exploring how emerging cellular therapies may offer new hope for Parkinson's treatment

Psilocybin and Ketamine for Depression and Anxiety in PD with Dr. Ellen Bradley of UCSF—Learn about groundbreaking research on innovative treatments for mood disorders in Parkinson's. Dr. Bradley will also share information about ongoing studies currently recruiting patients.

Glymphatic Massage for Brain Health with Heidi Simon, OT of NNMC—Discover how gentle head and neck massage can safely support the brain's natural detoxification process in a noninvasive way

Whether you're newly diagnosed, living with PD long-term, a care partner, or simply curious about Parkinson's research, this symposium offers accessible, expert-led insights into the science shaping the future of Parkinson's care.

This event is hybrid, so join us in person OR via Zoom.

Registration is FREE but Required! Click here to register.

He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, including advanced therapies such as deep brain stimulation (DBS). Dr. Truong is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and remains actively involved in Parkinson's research and education. At this year's Mini Research Symposium, he will share updates on emerging Parkinson's research, including stem cell therapies and future treatment directions.

Dr. Ellen Bradley is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF and Associate Director of the Translational Psychedelic Research program. She also serves as lead psychiatrist for the Parkinson’s Disease Research, Education, and Clinical Center (PADRECC) at the San Francisco VA. Her research focuses on developing new treatments for complex neuropsychiatric conditions including Parkinson's disease. She led the first clinical trial of psilocybin for people with Parkinson’s and is now leading larger trials examining the effects of psilocybin as well as ketamine in PD.

Heidi Simon, OTD, OTR/L, CLT, CNS. Heidi Simon graduated with her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences – Mary Baldwin University in 2018.
