Presenter:
Dr. Angelique Tay, has a true passion for helping people with conditions like Parkinson's disease. Dr. Tay is not only a general neurosurgeon, but she is also the only fellowship-trained functional neurosurgeon in our region, bringing a unique and specialized skill set to Northern Nevada.
What truly drives Dr. Tay is the ability to significantly improve a patient's quality of life. She finds her work in functional neurosurgery particularly rewarding, as it allows her to offer direct relief to individuals suffering from Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, epilepsy, movement disorders, and chronic pain.
Dr. Tay's expertise in functional neurosurgery is highly specialized. She is skilled in cutting-edge techniques, including:
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
Focused Ultrasound
Robotic-assisted Surgery
She finds the most fulfilling part of her job is helping patients regain the ability to "enjoy simple things like eating at a restaurant without feeling embarrassed," restoring their dignity and independence.
Outside of the operating room, she recharges through reading, growing orchids, and international travel, and she's an avid adventurer who enjoys exploring national parks and snowboarding.
