Education & Awareness
Part of our mission is education and public awareness — to spread helpful information about Parkinson's disease.  As part of our services, we connect you to informative websites, educational speakers, and other learning opportunities. We also participate in health fairs and collaborate with other agencies.

Running Up the Steps

Stepping On: Falls Prevention Workshop

In person this fall!

Stepping On is a free, community-based, small-group workshop proven to reduce falls and build confidence in older adults. Participants learn strength and balance exercises to help prevent falls, take part in group discussions, and hear from guest experts from the community.

This workshop meet for two hours a week for seven weeks. Workshops are facilitated by trained leaders and provide a safe and positive learning experience.

The workshop includes:
• Simple and fun strength and balance exercises
• Ways to stay safe at home and outside
• Guest experts including a physical therapist, pharmacist, and ophthalmologist 

These programs teach slow, flowing movements to help with strength, balance and well-being. Chair Chi allows people who cannot stand or do not feel confident with their balance to participate and benefit.
