About the event
April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, an important opportunity to increase understanding of a complex disease that affects more than 5,000 individuals and their families in Northern Nevada. Throughout the month, the Parkinson Support Center of Northern Nevada is bringing our community together through a variety of events that highlight both awareness and connection—from local gyms raising awareness about the powerful role of exercise in Parkinson’s, to restaurants hosting dine-to-donate events that create space for social gathering and support. We will also be offering a special Education Series focused on advocacy, empowering individuals and care partners to speak up in healthcare settings, daily life, and at the policy level. Together, these efforts reflect our mission: ensuring that no one has to face Parkinson’s disease alone.
